The companies at Turku Science Park perceived commissioning student projects to be difficult. The University Partner service shared by six higher education institutions in Turku brokered approximately 100 student projects a year. However, the tens of thousands of students and companies in Southwest Finland would have the potential for significantly more cooperation.
What we did
We launched a service design project to improve the cooperation between higher education institutions and companies and to develop University Partner. We collected information and customer knowledge through interviews and surveys and held three workshops, which were used to develop a better service process. We held implementation workshops to create a marketing communication plan and instructions for optimising digital availability.
The cooperation implemented through service design offered Turku Science Park practical tools for improving service quality. Activity proposals and content that could be put directly to use was created as a result of the five workshops.
